Increasing Attention to Diversity in Recruiting Mathematics Teacher Candidates
Description of Strategy
This set of slides shares several strategies used by CSU Chico to increase outreach to and support for more students of color in Mathematics teaching pathways. Based on data from the outreach campaigns, it was learned that being explicit about a program's commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) was most effective in engaging the interest of students of color to learn about mathematics (and science) teaching pathways.
