Cohort Model (Project Math)

The cohort model implemented by Project MATH is a nationally recognized program to develop future secondary math teachers. This residential learning community model incorporates practicing teachers into the students’ university coursework as well as providing them opportunities to experience 7-12th grade classrooms through the lens of a teacher beginning in the freshmen year. With minimal additional funding, this program could be replicated at other campuses. We are continuing to work on making it more universal at both our campus and for others by allowing different entry points, most notably for community college transfers.
