Early Field Experiences for Math/science Students and Streamlined Credential Pathways

Description of Strategy

​The most effective MSTI project activities at Cal State LA are early field experiences for math and science students and implementation of streamlined credential pathways. The early field experiences for math and science students include observing and analyzing K-12 classroom instruction, tutoring K-12 students, assisting K-12 in-service teachers with lesson development and implementation, and engaging in K-12 outreach activities. These early field experiences attract and elevate student interest in pursuing math and science teaching careers, as well as provide valuable professional preparation and career networking opportunities for our teacher candidates.​
