One-On-One Advising

​The most effective recruitment and retention strategy is the one-on-one advising and support provided by the Stan State MSTI Director and the Math and Science Faculty.  The MSTI Director assesses student needs to develop an individualized education plan and timeline, advises on credential program prerequisite requirements, application process, credentialing assessment preparation, financial aid, professional development, and early-field experience in teaching opportunities.  In one-on-one advising sessions students’ strengths are diagnosed and intervention is provided to fill the gaps in their conceptual understanding.
