Evening/Weekend/Off-Campus Group Advising Sessions
San Diego State University offers group advising sessions for people interested in teacher credential programs in untraditional formats. For example, we recognized the need for some people employed full-time that were unable to attend sessions during business hours on weekdays. Therefore, we now offer sessions in the evening (7pm) or on Saturdays (11am). Another example is offering these sessions off campus, to reduce the struggle of finding parking on campus during rush hour, and having the people pay for parking themselves. We decided to hold these sessions at an auxiliary location for SDSU just 4 minutes away from the main campus where has easier access and free parking to the public. So far all of these sessions have been very well-attended and we've received great comments about them.
